Introduction
The Delhi Ladli Scheme is a flagship program by the Government of Delhi designed to empower and support girl children financially. Launched on January 1, 2008, this scheme is managed by the Department of Women and Child Development. It ensures monetary assistance at key stages in a girl’s education and development.
Key Features:
- Managed by State Bank Life Insurance Corporation Limited (SBIL).
- Financial assistance is provided through term/fixed deposits.
- Registration is mandatory within 1 year of the girl’s birth.
Stages of Financial Assistance:
- Admission in Class 1: Rs. 5,000/-
- Admission in Class 6: Rs. 5,000/-
- Admission in Class 9: Rs. 5,000/-
- Passing Class 10: Rs. 5,000/-
- Admission in Class 12: Rs. 5,000/-
Girls registered at birth can receive approx. Rs. 1,00,000/- upon turning 18 or passing Class 10.
Renewal Process: Registration must be renewed at every stage to continue receiving benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
- Residency: Must reside in the National Capital Territory of Delhi for 3 years prior to the child’s birth.
- Income Limit: Annual income must not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-.
- Other Conditions:
- Registration is mandatory within 1 year of the girl’s birth.
- Benefits are limited to two girls per family.
- Birth certificate is required.

How to Apply
Offline Application:
- Obtain the form from the nearest district office or government-recognized school.
- Fill in all required details and attach the necessary documents.
- Submit the completed form to the district office.
Online Application:
- Visit the Delhi E District Portal.
- Register by entering your Aadhar Number and verifying via OTP.
- Fill out the form and upload the required documents:
- Residence Proof
- Income Certificate
- Birth Certificate
- Group Photo of Parents and Girl Child
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhar Card of Parents and Girl Child
- Submit the application. Verification updates will be shared via SMS.
Maturity Claim Process
- Open a zero-balance account at any SBI branch with the following:
- Passport-size photographs
- Photo identity proof
- Proof of residence
- Submit documents to the district officer:
- Bank passbook (original + photocopy)
- Crossed blank cheque
- Proof of admission (Class 10/12 marksheet)
- Upon verification, the maturity amount will be deposited.
