Overview of the Scheme

Introduction

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyam Gehrayi Nalkoop Free Boring Scheme, initiated in 2004, aims to support farmers by enabling irrigation through borewell construction. Implemented by the Minor Irrigation Department, this scheme provides subsidies for borewell setup, water distribution systems, and electrification. It primarily targets alluvial regions (excluding critical and overexploited blocks).

Key Features

• Farmers can use this scheme for borewell construction, pump systems, and electrification.
• Borewells with depths of 31 to 60 meters are covered under this scheme.
• The scheme offers geotagging for borewells and ensures a water flow of 3,200 gallons/hour.
• Farmers must register on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi or Paradarshi Kisan Seva Portal.

Benefits of the Scheme

• Loans are also available for borewell establishment, pump setup, and construction.
• Farmers can avail electrification benefits through the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
2. Should have agricultural land registered under their name.
3. Registration on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi or Paradarshi Kisan Seva Portal is mandatory.

How to Apply

Offline Application

1. Farmers must submit their application to the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation Department, with a survey fee of Rs. 1,500/-.
2. Applications are uploaded to the Jal Jeevan Mission Portal by the department.
3. Upon approval of the borewell site survey, 50% of the estimated cost must be deposited before starting the work.
4. Farmers must sign an agreement on Rs. 100/- stamp paper to complete construction within the stipulated time.

Online Application

1. Visit the Uttar Pradesh Jal Jeevan Mission Website.
2. Navigate to “Mukhyamantri Laghu Sinchai Yojana” and click on the “Application Form” section.
3. Fill out the following details:
   • District and Block
   • Name, Caste, and Village
   • Aadhar Number
   • Land Details
   • Registration Number (PM Kisan/Paradarshi Kisan Portal)
4. Upload required documents like Aadhar, Khatauni, and signatures.
5. Complete mobile verification using OTP and submit the form.
6. Approved applicants will be notified.

Important Scheme Points

• Each borewell must irrigate 6 hectares of net land or 10 hectares of gross land.
• Farmers benefiting from previous schemes must clear outstanding dues to qualify.
• Borewell construction is restricted within a 300-meter radius of existing shallow or deep borewells.
• Priority is given to farmers registered for micro-irrigation or solar-powered pumps.
