Scheme Overview

The Delhi Family Benefit Scheme, initiated by the Delhi Government, provides financial assistance to families who lose their primary breadwinner. This initiative is managed by the Department of Social Welfare and aims to support families during financial hardships caused by the untimely demise of the primary earner.

Scheme Benefits

  • One-Time Financial Assistance: ₹20,000 is provided to the family in the event of the death of the primary breadwinner.
  • Support for Low-Income Families: Families with an annual income of ₹1,00,000 or less are eligible for this assistance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Residency: Applicant must be a permanent resident of Delhi or have lived in Delhi for at least 5 years.
  • Age of Deceased: The primary breadwinner’s age should be between 18 and 60 years.
  • Income Limit: Annual family income must not exceed ₹1,00,000.

Required Documents

  • Residence proof (Domicile certificate, Voter ID, Driving License, or Ration Card).
  • Age proof of the deceased.
  • Death certificate of the deceased.
  • Income certificate or self-declaration.
  • Aadhaar card.
  • Passport-size photo.
  • Bank account details.

Application Process

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the Delhi E-District Portal.
  2. Register as a New User: Click on “New User,” enter your Aadhaar number, and verify it.
  3. Fill the Registration Form: Provide basic details and submit. A username and password will be sent to your mobile via SMS.
  4. Login: Use the received credentials to log in.
  5. Apply for the Scheme: Select “Delhi Family Benefit Scheme” under the Services tab.
  6. Submit Documents: Upload the required documents: residence proof, income certificate, death certificate, Aadhaar card, and bank account details.
  7. Submit Application: Click “Submit” to complete the process.
  8. Verification and Assistance: The application will be verified by the District Social Welfare Officer, and upon approval, ₹20,000 will be transferred to the applicant’s bank account.
